Beginning Colorwork: Polarized Hat

This is the perfect project for first time colorwork knitters! Learn to work two colors at once while making Latvian braids, Fair Isle and corrugated ribbing. This class will take the mystery out of colorwork knitting.

Prerequisites: Beginning knitting skills
Skills Learned: Casting on and working in the round, working Latvian braids, Fair Isle knitting from a chart and corrugated ribbing, working small-circumference knitting on double pointed needles and making pom-poms.
Materials Required: For practice: 2 colors of worsted-weight yarn that you can bring from home. If you don’t have extra yarn at home, buy an additional hank of your main color yarn. For the project: One hank each of 2 contrasting colors Quince & Co Osprey (100% American wool, 100g/170yds) - please purchase in-store. You will use approximately 150 yds of the main color and 75 yds of the contrasting color. Size US 8 (5mm) 16” circular knitting needle, size US 8 (5mm) DPNs, tapestry needle, stitch markers. You will also need to purchase the Polarized Hat pattern by Tanis Gray (you may purchase this at Warm 'n Fuzzy).
