Heels and More Heels!
Fri 5/24 & 5/31
10 am-12 pm
What’s a sock without a heel? Well, it’s a tube sock, but who wants to knit that? Toe-up, top-down, gusset, short-row, fish lips and tomatoes… so many ways to turn the corner. Come learn various ways to make heels, then insert them into your sock patterns at will. We will start with 2 basic heels for the first session and then you will help pick 2 different ones for the second class. Being comfortable with small-circumference knitting in the round is a prerequisite.
Instructor: Jean Carter
Prerequisites: Advanced beginner. Comfortable working on small circumferences-- dpns, 2 circulars, or magic loop (any of these will work for class).
Homework: Pick any size yarn from worsted down to fingering and appropriate size needles for knitting in the round. Please make it a light colored solid or tonal. Multi colors will make it harder to see what we’re doing. Using your favorite circular technique, cast on 32 sts and join to work in the round. Work 2x2 rib for 3 rounds then knit for 5 or more rounds. Work another the same. Don’t bind off. Leave them on the needles and don’t cut the yarn.
All class materials must be purchased from Warm n Fuzzy.
