VIRTUAL CLASS! Missy Shawl
Thu 1/21, 2/11, & 3/4
These classes will be held via Zoom. You will receive a link to the zoom sessions after registration.
If you want to dip your toe into the fabulous world of lace shawls, this is the perfect place to start. It starts with extremely simple lace and, after you have some experience, moves up to a pattern that is a bit more interesting. It is a small shawl, for a chilly summer evening or spiffing up a winter coat. And who can resist Quince's newest yarn, Owlet?
Instructor: Jean Carter
Prerequisites: Basic knitting skills with some experience with yarnovers and decreases.
Homework: It’s a good idea to knit a square of stockinette and block it to be sure you are in the ballpark with gauge, (and adjust needle size if not,) but there is no need to do the special swatch described on page 2.
Skills Learned: Garter tab, triangular shaping, simple lace with basic charts, lace blocking, lifelines.
Materials Required: Pattern: Missy Shawl by Sheila Ackroyd (available for purchase here), 3 skeins Owlet yarn (available for purchase here; may use other solid or semi-solid fingering weight yarn) Needles as specified, tapestry needle, crochet cotton or similar smooth cotton string, scissors, stitch markers.
All class materials must be purchased from Warm n Fuzzy.
