VIRTUAL CLASS! Twigly Scarf
Thu 9/24, 10/8, & 10/22
10 am-12 pm
These classes will be held via Zoom. You will receive a link to the zoom sessions after registration.
This reversible sportweight scarf is as much fun to knit as it is to wear. The construction is entertaining, and the leafy tip end can tuck under any cable for a variety of ways to wear it. We start with a center diamond and then work out in both directions.
Instructor: Jean Carter
Prerequisites: Basic knitting skills plus comfort with increases and decrease.
Homework: Obtain pattern, yarn and needles, and work a swatch in garter stitch, just to be sure we are in the ball park. Don’t worry about exact gauge, but know your gauge number at the first class.
Skills Learned: Cables, decoding instructions for unusual shaping, non-restrictive edge stitches, picking up stitches from yarnovers.
Materials Required: Twigly pattern, by Jennifer Weissman. Approximately 800 yards of sportweight yarn, such as Life in the Long Grass Merino Sport, Rosy Green Cheeky Merino Joy, or Malabrigo Arroyo. Size US 5 needle, 32 inches long, regular and removable stitch markers, a regular cable needle will not be big enough for this mega-cable, so have a an extra needle or dpn around that is somewhat smaller than a size 5.
All class materials must be purchased from Warm n Fuzzy.
