Beaded Hat
Tue 4/3 & 4/17
3-5 pm

Learn to add bling to your knitting in 2 easy ways. This simple hat comes alive with the addition of beads.

Instructor:  Jean Carter

Prerequisites:  Basic knitting skills - knitting in the round, basic knowledge of decreasing helpful but not necessary

Materials Required:  One skein of fingering weight yarn (about 200 yards will be used) will be plenty, and 316 size 6/0 seed beads. Size 8/0 beads may also be used if you would prefer a slightly smaller bead. Pick a solid or tonal color yarn and as much contrast and glitz in the beads as you can stand. Multi-colored beads would be fine. Jean will provide the special tools needed for the beading (you might be surprised at what they are.) We can finish the top with i-cord, a yarn or fur pompom, or just leave it plain. Hat pattern will be provided.
