Beginning Amigurumi

This class is for those familiar with the basic crochet stitches and the basics of crocheting in the round. In this class you will build your skills for crochet in the round while working on the class amigurumi project.

Instructor:  Kestrel McCorkle

Prerequisites:  Basic crochet knowledge required. This is a great follow-up after Crochet 101 and 102.

Skills Learned:

• Increases and invisible decreases in the round
• Crocheting in a spiral
• Reading your work
• Stuffing and finishing amigurumi pieces
• Joining 3D projects
• Stitching embroidery on top of work
• Intermediate project: Lucas the Teddy by happyamigurumi

Materials Required:

• 2 skeins DK or worsted weight yarn (superwash wool)
• 20 yds scrap yarn DK or worsted weight in a contrasting color for nose and feet stitching (shop will provide this in black if you’d prefer to use what we have)
• One set of 6 mm safety eyes (available at the shop)
• Polyfill stuffing for bear
• 2.5 - 3.75 mm hooks (depends on yarn weight and gauge)
• Locking stitch markers
• Tapestry needle, straight pins
• Scissors
• Pattern purchase from Ravelry (we can help you at the shop): “Lucas the Teddy” by happyamigurumi

Class Policies:  All class materials must be purchased from Warm 'n Fuzzy. For class cancellations: if cancellation is made outside of 48 hours of class start time, you will be provided with a store credit to be used on any future purchase with the shop.  There will be no refunds on cancellations made within 48 hours of class start time.
