Quince describes this as the perfect go-with-everything sweater for spring candlelight evenings, and we have to agree. It has a relaxed fit and lots of sophisticated details.
Instructor: Jean Carter
Prerequisites: Basic knitting skills plus a little experience with sweater knitting. This is not for true beginners.
Homework: Work gauge swatch of at least 4 inches square in stockinette stitch. Block this and measure for gauge. Change needles and repeat until you get as close to gauge as possible. Also, make a practice piece-- using any leftover yarn in DK or worsted and appropriate needles, cast on 60 sts and join to work in the round. Rib 1x1 for 4 rounds then work as follows for 10 rounds: * P3, k12 * repeat around. No need to block this.
Skills learned: Two-ball cast-on, reverse stockinette, German short rows, tubular bind off, 3-needle bind off.
