This class is for those familiar with the basic crochet stitches and are ready to learn some new skills like changing between crocheting flat to into the round, more complex stitches, changing colors, understanding gauge, and reading patterns. It’s the perfect class to follow Crochet 102 or for taking your crochet to the next level.

All classes and lessons must be purchased online.

Instructor:  Kestrel McCorkle

 

Prerequisites:  Must know how to make single crochet, double crochet, half double crochet, and treble crochet stitches. Must be familiar with crocheting in the round.

 

Skills Learned:

 

Review of new complex stitches

  • Changing from working flat to into the round
  • Reading your work
  • Changing colors
  • Creating a gauge swatch and changing hooks to get gauge
  • Professional finishing techniques
  • Intermediate project: changing course cowl

 

Materials Required:

  • 2 skeins of worsted weight yarn, one in the color (superwash wool); Malabrigo Rios
    recommended. One speckle skein is ok, but recommend the other skein be solid colored or both skeins solid colors (tonal ok too)
  • 5.0, 5.5, and 6 mm hooks
  • Locking stitch markers
  • Tapestry needle
  • Scissors
  • Copy of purchased pattern from Ravelry (we can help you at the shop): Changing Course Cowl

Class Policies:  All class materials must be purchased from Warm 'n Fuzzy. For class cancellations: if cancellation is made outside of 48 hours of class start time, you will be provided with a store credit to be used on any future purchase with the shop. There will be no refunds on cancellations made within 48 hours of class start time. Warm 'n Fuzzy reserves the right to cancel any classes if less than 3 students sign up within 24 hours of the start time. If the class is canceled by Warm 'n Fuzzy, you will be refunded.
