Crochet: Amigurumi Jellyfish

You can call it by its Japanese name or not, but making little crocheted creatures (or food, plants or appliances for that matter) is wildly popular and fun. We will get the basics of 3-dimensional shaping and decorating with this non-stinging friend.

Instructor:  Dr. Jean

Prerequisites:  Good familiarity with basic crochet stitches—single crochet, double crochet, half-double crochet and slip stitch.

Homework: None

Skills Learned:  Crocheting in the round to make a 3-dimensional object. Assembling, stuffing, and adorning a toy.

Materials Required: This toy can be made with any yarn and suitable hook, but for this class, I recommend a worsted weight yarn and size G hook. For amigurumi toys, the hook is usually fairly small for the yarn. This makes for tighter stitches and prevents the stuffing from leaking out. I will supply safety eyes and something to embroider the mouth with. Class Policies:  All class materials must be purchased from Warm 'n Fuzzy. For class cancellations: if cancellation is made outside of 48 hours of class start time, you will be provided with a store credit to be used on any future purchase with the shop.  There will be no refunds on cancellations made within 48 hours of class start time.
