This lovely pullover has elegant touches such as broken ribbing, split side seams and a short funnel neck. But it is surprisingly basic to knit, and would make a good first grown-up sweater. There are just a few short rows, and little bit of grafting, and a chance to learn about making a sweater fit.

Instructor: Jean Carter

Prerequisites: Basic knitting skills plus the willingness to learn

Homework: (Before class work and block gauge swatches until you are close to the recommended gauge as possible. Try different needle sizes until you get one that is close. Bring all your swatches and related needles to the first class. Bring a paper copy of your pattern. Look for a sweater you already own that fits the way you like, and bring it along, too.)

Skills Learned: Gauge assessment for fit. Sweater construction. Raglan shaping. Short rows. Increasing with make-ones.

Materials Required: Pattern-- Dale by Elizabeth Smith. Can be purchased in shop. Worsted weight wool yarn in amounts suggested by pattern. The pattern was designed for Lark by Quince and we have a great selection of this in the shop. The pattern suggests a lot of needles, but we can get by with just 2 40-inch-long needles—one in the size you get gauge with and one that is one size smaller (if you know or are willing to learn the Magic Loop way of knitting in the round.) Usual kit of scissors, tape measure, locking and regular stitch markers, tapestry needles.

All class materials must be purchased from Warm 'n Fuzzy. For class cancellations: if cancellation is made outside of 48 hours of class start time, you will be provided with a store credit to be used on any future purchase with the shop. There will be no refunds on cancellations made within 48 hours of class start time.
