This class is for beginners who are familiar with knit and purl stitches and looking for the next steps after knitting 101. This hat is worked from the bottom up starting with a ribbed brim, stockinette and a garter panel for the body, then finished with decreases for the crown. The pattern used is Barley Worsted by Tincan knits. The pattern can be downloaded for free from Ravelry or is free in the Tincan knits app.

Materials Required:
- Pattern is “Barley worsted” by Tincan Knits: https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/barley-worsted
- ~170 yds or 1 skein of worsted weight yarn
- Needles: US #6/4 mm needles AND US #8/5 mm needles (your choice of 16” circular, two circulars, long circular for magic loop, and/or double-pointed needles)
- Stitch markers
- Tapestry needle
- Scissors
