Wed 8/1, 8/29, 9/12, & 9/26
Tegna is a great way to show off lovely lace in a slightly oversized, seamless sweater. Worked in a cotton or linen blend, it would be perfect for summer or a North Carolina autumn, but any fingering weight can work.
Prerequisites: advanced beginner -- very comfortable with knit and purl, cast on, and bind off
Skills Learned: simple lace, chart reading, kichener stitch, 3-needle bind off, bottom-up sweater construction
Homework: Gauge is extremely variable here. Knitters have used everything from a size 3 to a size 7 to get gauge on different yarns, so it is important that you work (and wash) enough swatches to get fairly close to the recommended gauge of 22 sts/ 4 inches before class starts.
Materials Required: 760 to 1300 yards fingering weight yarn, depending on size required. The length is slightly cropped, so if you would like to make it longer, be sure to buy extra yarn. Also stock up on stitch markers. You will need between 15 and 25. Copy of pattern is available for purchase in-store.
All class materials must be purchased from Warm n Fuzzy.
