A sock project is a fun, portable, and relatively fast project that showcases the abundant choices of sock yarns available at our shop. This class uses a pattern for top-down socks knitted using the Magic Loop method with fingering weight yarn two sizes. In addition, it provides many useful hints and tips, techniques and step-by-step processes to help you learn to create basic socks.

Instructor:   Amy Wentley

Prerequisites:  Basic knitting skills

Homework:  None

Skills Learned:  Casting onto circular needles and using the Magic Loop method to knit in the round. Turning a heel, working a gusset and a toe, as well as binding off with Kitchener stitch.

Materials Required: Yarn: Approximately 300 yards of light- or bright-colored worsted-weight yarn for a pair of average women’s-sized or men’s-sized socks. Needles: A 40” circular needle of size US 5 (3.75mm), Tapestry needle; stitch markers. (If you prefer to use double-pointed-needles, instead of Magic Loop, feel free to bring a set.)

Class Policies:  All class materials must be purchased from Warm 'n Fuzzy. For class cancellations: if cancellation is made outside of 48 hours of class start time, you will be provided with a store credit to be used on any future purchase with the shop.  There will be no refunds on cancellations made within 48 hours of class start time.
