Tunisian Crochet (aka crochet for knitters)
Thu 2/13 & 2/20
10 am-12 pm
Do you love to crochet and want to try a new technique? Are you not a fan of crochet, but and intrigued with the great fabric texture of Tunisian crochet? This is the class for you. We will start with a washcloth (free pattern by Purl Soho) to get the basic stitch, then move on to a lovely scarf that would be great for either men or women.
Prerequisites: Basic to intermediate knitting skills. A tiny bit of crochet experience will be helpful, but not necessary.
Skills Learned: tunisian crochet basics
Materials Required: Please purchase a size I or J tunisian crochet hook (may also be called an afghan hook). As this is not an item we typically stock, and cannot predict how many students will be in the class, we ask that you purchase this either online (here's a link to purchase at Amazon) or you may be able to find it locally at JoAnn.
We will use a skein of either Blue Sky or Pacolet cotton for the washcloth, and one skein each of 2 colors of worsted in wool like Fiberstory Core Worsted or Rios in contrasting colors for the scarf. Patterns will be provided in class.
All class materials must be purchased from Warm n Fuzzy.
