VIRTUAL CLASS! Neon Ski Hat
Tue 9/29, 10/13, & 10/27
These classes will be held via Zoom. You will receive a link to the zoom sessions after registration.
Winter is coming! This fun hat has an extra-thick layer over the ears, great texture, twisty ties and, of course, a pompom.
Instructor: Jean Carter
Prerequisites: Basic knitting skills plus ability to knit in the round in a small circumference. Using dpn’s will work fine, but if you would like to learn Magic Loop, that is how I will be demonstrating.
Homework: Before 1st class, work a gauge swatch and wash it like you will wash the hat. Gauge isn’t too critical, but you don’t want to make it for your sister and have to give it to your little niece.
Skills Learned: Interesting bonnet construction. Decorative wrap stitch, chart reading, pick up and knit not on the edge, cable cast-on, pompom-making, a twisted cord.
Materials Required: Neon Ski Bonnet pattern by Lacey Volk. About 440 yards of worsted weight yarn in the wildest possible color =) (220 for the small child size), size US7 needles (a 32” or 40” circular will allow you to knit both the flat and the Magic Loop parts,) and a cable needle or single dpn to hold stitches.
All class materials must be purchased from Warm n Fuzzy.
